Test Report Form (TRF)
Official document listing a candidate's scores, personal details, and test information.
Overall Band Score
The overall average band score across Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking on a 9-band scale.
Listening
Section score for the Listening component of the IELTS exam.
Reading
Section score for the Reading component of the IELTS exam.
Writing
Section score for the Writing component of the IELTS exam.
Speaking
Section score for the Speaking component of the IELTS exam.
CEFR Level
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level describing language ability from A1 to C2.
C1
CEFR level indicating a high-proficiency user who can understand demanding texts and use language flexibly.
General Training
IELTS module intended for general training, work, or immigration purposes (as opposed to Academic).
Private Candidate
An IELTS test-taker who registers independently, not through an institution.
Candidate Number
Unique identifier assigned to a candidate for the exam (e.g., 512143).
Date of Birth
The candidate's birth date used for identification and records.
Country of Nationality
The country of citizenship claimed by the candidate.
Country or Region of Origin
The country or region where the candidate originates.
First Language
The candidate's native or primary language (e.g., Malayalam).
Malayalam
Dravidian language spoken in Kerala, listed here as the candidate's first language.
Recognising Organisations
Organizations authorized to recognize IELTS scores: British Council; IDP IELTS; Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
IELTS Verify
Online verification service at ielts.org/verify to confirm a candidate's test results.
Two-Year Re-Assessment Recommendation
Guidance that language ability should be re-assessed two years after the test date.
