Urban sprawl
The expansion of urban areas into the surrounding environment and countryside.
Relief
A term in physical geography describing the shape and elevation of the land.
Drainage
A physical geography term referring to the way water flows through a landscape, such as via river lines or channels.
Sustainable settlement
A community or development designed to meet current needs while minimizing environmental impact and remaining viable for the future.
Hypothesis
A statement or theory, such as ‘The velocity (speed) of a river increases downstream,’ that is tested during a geographical enquiry.
Environmental quality survey
A methodology used to assess various sites by scoring factors like attractiveness, maintenance, pollution, and landscaping.

Upstream

Downstream
