movements of convection currents pushes the continental and oceanic together. the oceanic crust is denser so it is pushed down into the mantle. this is called subduction

two plates slide past each other but they get stuck and over time pressure builds up and they move past each other

collision plate boundary

two continental plates collide and they are both forced up and they form mountains
