Newton's First Law

An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. (inertia)

noncontact force

a force that one object can apply to another object without touching it

Gravity

a noncontact attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass

Force

a push or pull on an object

Inertia

a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force.

whenever a force is acted upon an object, that object acts back with an equal force in the opposite direction of the action force.
