What is the AP Statistics exam format?
The exam format includes 40 multiple-choice questions and 6 free response questions. The exam is broken down weight-wise with 50% being allotted to the multiple choice section and 50% allotted to free response questions.. Students are allotted 90 minutes to complete the multiple-choice section and 90 minutes to complete the free response section. What units are on AP Statistics?
Unit 1: Introduction to One-Variable Data Exploration
In this unit, you will learn how statisticians analyze variation and represent data. You will also learn how to describe distributions and draw conclusions using theoretical distributions.
Unit 2: Two-Variable Data Exploration
Building on what you learned in Unit 1, this unit focuses on representing and comparing two-variable data. You will learn how to describe relationships between variables and make predictions using models.
Unit 3: Introduction to Data Collection
This unit introduces study design, with a focus on the importance of randomization. You will learn how to interpret the results of well-designed studies and draw appropriate conclusions.
Unit 4: Probability, Random Variables, and Distributions
Unit 4 covers the fundamentals of probability and introduces probability distributions, which are key to statistical inference.
Unit 5: Sampling Distributions
In this unit, you will develop an understanding of sampling distributions, which form the basis for estimating population characteristics and determining confidence levels.
Unit 6: Inference for Categorical Data: Proportions
