Weight of the heaviest car
1 lb. It is the weight of the heaviest toy car out of a total of four.
Total weight of four toy cars
3.85 lbs, the combined weight of all four toy cars.
Equal weight of the other toy cars
Each of the three other toy cars weighs the same amount, calculated to find how much less than the heaviest car they are.
Sum notation in math
The symbol Σ represents the sum of a sequence, with specified terms being evaluated.
Result of addition
The answer derived from an addition operation is called the sum.
Minuend
The number from which another number (the subtrahend) is subtracted.
Subtrahend
The number that is subtracted from the minuend.
Previous number
When 1 is subtracted from a number, the resulting number is called the previous number.
Next number
When 1 is added to a number, the resulting number is the next number.
Factors of a number
A number can have limited or unlimited factors depending on its properties.
Prime number
A number that has exactly two distinct factors: 1 and itself.
Composite number
A number that has more than two factors.
Greatest 8 digit number
The largest number that can be represented with eight digits.
Smallest 5 digit number
The smallest number that can be represented with five digits.
Product in multiplication
The result obtained from multiplying two or more numbers.
Average calculation
The average is calculated by adding all numbers and dividing by the total count.
