Panic:

Person with phobia may panic in response to presence of phobic stimulus. Involves: crying, screaming. Child react differently- freezing, clinging or having tantrum.

Avoidance:

Considerable effort to prevent contact with phobic stimulus- hard to go about daily life. E.g. person with fear of PT may need to limit time they spend outside home with how long they can last without toilet.- interferes with work, educ and social life.

Endurance:

Alternative behaviour to avoidance. Involves remaining in presence of phobic stimulus. E.g person with arachnophobia may choose to stay in room with spider and keep a wary eye on it.
