Unit 7 Presentation

Unit 7 Presentation

Activity 2 is based on Activity 1 (the report).  It should be used to pitch your recommendation from your report.  Therefore information can be copied and pasted from the report into the presentation but it should be developed further than in the report (and not just used to pad out the presentation), summarise and direct your points.  The presentation is only out of 18 marks (as opposed to 52 for the report) so you should split your time accordingly.

Each slide should use bullet points / diagrams / graphs / data but the detail should be in the speaker notes.  For each of the bullet points on your slides, you should have a heading in your speaker notes under which you outline your points clearly.

Focus on the option you are choosing and pitch your recommendation

Assessment Focus 7 is all about how well you outline the key data and influences leading to your decision.  Some (but not all) of the data / information selected must be financial to reach band 3+.

Assessment Focus 8 is all about how you pitch the decision based on the costs (not necessarily financial, e.g. time), financial information, key factors (e.g. market demand, location, competition) and risks (SWOT, PESTEL etc).  This can be based on those you highlighted in your report but make a convincing argument as to your decision.

Assessment Focus 9 is all about the structure of the presentation; engaging, clear, concise, using bullets and related headings in speaker notes and clarity of financial data.

Example of structure:

Slide 1 – Introduction; overview of presentation

Slide 2 – Decision and influences leading to this

Slide 3 – Costs and Finances

Slide 4 – Key Factors

Slide 5 – Risks

Slide 6 – Overall conclusions of the recommended option
