Acrid - strong and sharp, as a taste or smell


Cacophony - loud confusing disagreeable sounds



Cantankerous - quarrelsome and disagreeable; unwilling to cooperate



Clandestine - describe something that is done in secret



Colloquial - used in ordinary or familiar conversation



Facade -  front of a building or a kind of front people put up emotionally.



Jettison - to push to the side or toss away, usually off a boat or airplane



Misanthrope - a person who hates or mistrusts other people.



Mollify - to calm someone down or make softer



Poignant - keenly distressing to the mind or feelings; moving to the emotions



Tenacious - not easily letting go or giving up



Transient (adjective): lasting a very short time
