Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants, algae, and some bacteria convert light energy into chemical energy, using carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose and oxygen. Glucose is a simple sugar that serves as a primary source of energy for the body's cells, playing a crucial role in metabolism and overall health. When metabolism happens, it causes the body to convert food into energy, which is essential for maintaining bodily functions and supporting physical activity.
Photosynthesis is important because it not only provides the oxygen we breathe, but also forms the foundation of the food chain, supporting life on Earth. If photosynthesis didn’t occur, the Earth's ecosystems would collapse, as plants would be unable to produce the oxygen necessary for most life forms and the food chain would be severely disrupted.
