Step 3: Test the reasoning

Look for gaps between evidence and claim (warrants), causal leaps, overgeneralization, ignored counterarguments, and mismatched evidence.

Step 4: Compare sources to synthesize

Build relationships: agreement/disagreement and why, complementary roles (data vs. interpretation vs. policy), tensions and trade-offs.
