Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis

1. Photosynthesis is a chemical reaction and it is how plants make their food.

2. The food plants make is called glucose.

3. For Photosynthesis plants need: sunlight, water, chlorophyll, and Carbon Dioxide.

4. Chlorophyll is the green substance in leaves. Chlorophyll helps leaves absorb sunlight.

5. Carbon Dioxide is the air that people and animals breathe out. Plants take in carbon dioxide in tiny holes in their leaves.

6. During Photosynthesis plants make: oxygen and glucose (their food).

7. Plants put oxygen into the atmosphere and people and animals use the oxygen to breathe.

8. Plants use glucose (sugar food) to grow, produce seeds, and go through photosynthesis.

9. Plants store extra glucose in their leaves, roots, stems, flowers.
